Travel awards

In order to stimulate young investigators to attend the 9th International symposium on alcoholic liver and pancreatic diseases and cirrhosis (ISALPD/C) the National Institutes of Health and other sponsors offer travel awards to up to 18 candidates.
The total amount of travel support is
For Young American Delegates (1500 USD covered by NIH) – 9 grants are available
For Young non-American Delegates (500 Euros, covered by the local organizers) – 9 grants are available

Application deadline is 30 Sept, 2014


  • Applicants should be investigators early in their careers, including undergraduate students, PhD students, postdoctoral or clinical fellows, residents who are conducting basic or clinical research.
  • Applicants should be under the age of 35
  • Applicants should be first authors on an abstract submitted to ALPD2014
  • In order to complete the application a recommendation is required from one of the applicant’s mentor/trainers and a copy of the applicant’s CV. The recommendation should include the applicant contribution of the research work and justification for award consideration.

Applications will be judged by the organizing committee and the travel award recipients will be notified during the first week of October about their award. Winners and their talk/poster title will also be announced during the gala dinner on Sunday (November 23th).
